  • Club Runs | Palm Springs Corvettes

One of the most enjoyable activities of Palm Springs Corvettes is our organized Club Runs. These events bring together Corvette enthusiasts to experience the thrill of driving their Corvettes on carefully planned routes through some of the most scenic roads and destinations in Southern California and beyond. Club Runs Palm Springs Corvettes Club Runs One of the most enjoyable activities of Palm Springs Corvettes is our organized Club Runs. These events bring together Corvette enthusiasts to experience the thrill of driving their Corvettes on carefully planned routes through some of the most scenic roads and destinations in Southern California and beyond. Our Club Runs provide members with the opportunity to enjoy their vehicles, build lasting friendships, and celebrate the heritage, performance, and excitement of America's Sports Car. Along the way, we often visit popular destinations, restaurants, car museums, special attractions, car shows, and local landmarks. Club Runs may range from relaxing day cruises to extended overnight trips and special touring adventures. Safety is our highest priority during every Club Run. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, Palm Springs Corvettes has established the following Club Run Safety Guidelines. All members and guests are expected to follow these rules at all times. Club Run Safety Rules Before the Run Begins Please arrive on time and ensure your Corvette is properly prepared for the trip. Start with a full tank of fuel. Check engine oil and coolant levels. Verify that all tires are properly inflated to the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure. Tires must not exceed the manufacturer's recommended service life (typically 6–10 years depending on the manufacturer). Carry basic tools and emergency supplies whenever possible. Members are strongly encouraged to bring a two-way FRS radio (walkie-talkie). The Run Leader will assign the communication channel before departure. Obey All Traffic Laws Safety always comes first. Follow all posted traffic laws and speed limits. Never drive faster than road, weather, or traffic conditions safely allow. Remember that the goal is to enjoy the drive and arrive safely. A citation, vehicle damage, or accident can negatively impact the entire group experience. Keeping the Group Together Successful Club Runs depend on teamwork and communication. The Run Leader monitors the entire group and adjusts speed when necessary. The Run Leader keeps track of the number of participating Corvettes and remains aware of the last vehicle in the convoy. Members should safely maintain visual contact with the Corvette ahead whenever possible. All participating Corvettes should have a two-way radio and access to the Club member contact list. Traveling Through Congested Areas When traveling through towns, toll booths, or areas with multiple traffic signals: The group may temporarily utilize two or three lanes, when safe and legal, to reduce the overall length of the convoy. After clearing the congested area, all vehicles should return to a single-file formation. The Run Leader will reduce speed as needed to allow the group to regroup safely. Hazard and Trouble Signals If you experience a problem requiring you to stop: Daytime Turn on your headlights. Nighttime Flash your headlights on and off. When a vehicle signals trouble: Only the vehicle immediately behind the affected Corvette and/or the designated troubleshooter vehicle should stop to assist. All other vehicles should continue with the Run Leader to the next safe stopping location. Radio communication should be used whenever possible. If a road hazard appears suddenly and there is no time for radio communication, safely maneuver around the hazard to alert vehicles behind you. The last Corvette in the group may be designated by the Run Leader as the spotter or trouble vehicle. Rejoining the Run After a stop: Merge back into traffic only when it is safe to do so. Re-enter the convoy in the same order whenever possible. When conditions allow, the last vehicle may assist by creating a safe buffer for vehicles rejoining traffic. Guests Are Welcome Palm Springs Corvettes welcomes guests on Club Runs. Guests driving a Corvette should position their vehicle directly behind the member who invited them. This helps guests easily follow the group and stay connected throughout the run. Non-Corvette vehicles ("Tin Cars") are welcome but must remain at the rear of the convoy, behind all participating Corvettes. Enjoy the Journey Palm Springs Corvettes Club Runs are designed to provide safe, enjoyable, and memorable driving experiences for all participants. By following these guidelines, members help ensure every run is fun, organized, and rewarding. Whether we're cruising through mountain roads, exploring scenic highways, visiting automotive attractions, or enjoying an overnight adventure, our shared passion for Corvettes makes every journey special.
