Spring 2013

Welcome to our Club Webpage!
Dear PSCC Members:
The first four months of the year have now passed and based on the level of activities and participation we have had, they have been very good months for the club. We have attended and or participated in a number of car shows, taken part in the first Cruise Night on El Paseo and shared a meal at drive in where they still "roller skate" your order to you. We have shown our cars at the Concour D' Elegance (probably a one time opportunity as this show is rated one of the top four shows in the country and normally restricted to very high end cars worth millions of dollars). We traveled to the Peterson Museum in LA to celebrate the first 60 years of Corvette where we were able to see the 2014 Corvette on display along with C 1 through C 6 models plus around 500 additional Corvettes of all vintages. Our trip to trip to Salvation Mountain along the Salton Sea in Nyland (you have to see this display to appreciate the work the man put into this project for 35 years) and lunch in Brawly was a lot of fun. A few of us went to Palm Springs to be in the Un Car Show sponsored by the Victor Valley Vette Club, an unusual experience but a good day. We finished the four months with a visit to Cars and Coffee in Riverside, a trip to the Riverside Raceway Museum and lunch in the patio of the Historic Mission Inn Riverside. We participated in all these activities along with putting on a very successful semi-annual autocross in March on the second weekend. Not to be forgotten the dinner night outs and Diva luncheons each month. It makes me tired just to look at all the activities we have had going so far this year. If you can't find something you enjoy out of all the opportunities the club puts out there for us you aren't trying. What a great membership to support everything we have been doing.
I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped at the autocross to make it a continued success for our club and our ability to contribute to our charities who need our support, ALS and the Boys and Girls Club.
As we normally experience, many of our members are leaving the valley to cooler climates for the summer, we would like to wish them a great summer. We will look forward to your return and continued participation in the club. We will have a normal drop in activity over the coming months but those of us still in the desert this summer we will try and plan some activities out of the valley heat so we can be outside and enjoy the fresh air instead of the air conditioner. Please attend our meetings on the second Tuesday each month so we can find out what you would like to do and get maximum participation.
We have had quite a few new members who have joined the club January through April, welcome and we hope you will make many new friends and enjoy the club. In order to make friends and get the maximum out of your membership you will need to participate, attend the meetings, volunteer to do something so you will get in the mix.
We will continue to participate in Cars and Coffee on Jefferson the first Saturday morning of the month until it gets to hot and the same would be true of those attending the Crusin Association Show in Palm Desert that night. Watch for the e-mails from the club to keep you updated on what we are doing and say "yes" you will be happy you did.
Happy Vetting.
