The Palm Springs Corvette Club provides support to selected charities throughout the year.

ALS:

The primary recipient of donations at this time is the Riverside County Support Group for ALS, specifically the Coachella Valley group. This is a support organization for ALS patients and those involved with their care.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is a progressive wasting away of certain nerve cells in the muscles that will no longer respond to the impulses sent by the brain through the spinal column. It is a totally disabling, always fatal disease with no known cure.  Patients typically have a life expectancy of two to four years after diagnosis. They progressively lose control of their muscles and require intensive personal care during the course of the disease.

The primary fund raiser for ALS is the Annual Autocross and Car Show, which is scheduled for March 15-16, 2008, at the Riverside County Fairgrounds, Indio, California

Other Donations:

The Club evaluates other local charitable needs throughout the year and donates on a case-by-case basis.
